Introduction

Our vision is a safe and flourishing world with high resilience to extreme risks, such as those from pandemics and emerging technologies.  CLTR’s policy experts have set out a series of proposals to transform the UK’s resilience to extreme risks. Our recommendations focus on areas of risk where we believe effective governance today could reduce existing and future threats, with the following objectives:

  • Risk management: Lead the world in the UK’s approach to Risk Management;
  • Artificial Intelligence: Establish a world-leading, effective AI governance regime which enables the UK to harness the benefits of AI while mitigating its risks;
  • Biosecurity: Transform UK and global resilience to the full range of biological threats.
