Tommy Shaffer Shane

Tommy previously worked at the UK Government, where he led the build of a £10m technology platform that developed AI models to analyse online disinformation. Prior to that, he was Head of Policy at First Draft, a counter-disinformation non-profit, where he collaborated with the WHO, Stanford University, Unicef, the UN, Google and Partnership on AI on various technical and policy projects. Tommy is currently completing a PhD on AI safety incidents and how they can inform the future of AI, and has degrees from the University of Cambridge and King’s College London.
